ZheGao is a new brand for me and I didn't really have any plans to try it. A while ago I browsed through brick4 trying to find the best spacesuit-like mech from various brands. I looked at the most of them, if not all, including now popular builds with 2 different halves. There were many that I liked, even the cute ones with halves cowered in flowers, but I decided for myself that ZheGao was the best one, maybe because of purple colour that I like :)
Brick quality: absolute top. The feel is just like Lego or GoBricks, the clutch is more like Lego. There are some injection marks that are visible a bit too much - more Sluban level I would say. Nevertheless, I was very impressed, especially with all chrome pieces. I guess purple pieces also have some coating, but they leave no trace on fingers, surfaces or other pieces, just great!
Design: again, very impressed. A very interesting build and totally different from what I'm already used to in mechs by Sluban. There are some decorations that can fall off (only 2, in fact), and one hose could be a bit longer, but those are trivial. The final result looks absolutely amazing and YES, it can stand on its own, easily, in fact. Maybe if you also try to add its huge (and heavy) backpack only THEN it could have troubles. Lights are easy too install and not too bright. It was interesting to try (my first set with lights), nice little additional touch, but not something I would look at often.
Stickers: NONE! Such a relief, again, after Sluban mechs :D There are 8 decals (not sure why to add those 8 when everything else is prints) however, and I wasn't ready for them (didn't know that those are not stickers). Of course I fcuked up the very first and the most visible one, but I fixed it as much as I could, doesn't look too bad. The rest look great, I liked this technic, though it doesn't forgive any mistakes.
Instructions: easy to follow, but I would say they are not for beginners. I didn't make any mistakes that would throw me several steps back, but I had to fix some things during the same step in some places. The backpack is the most difficult one, but not because of the instructions, it's just tricky to hold while building. The instructions are the only real downside of the set (not that it's really that important) - too big and look cheap, like printed in the nearby kiosk. Not really fitting the otherwise top-quality set.
Overall, I highly recommend this to any cosmos and (or) mech lovers, especially if you can find it below 30 euros.
